Claude AI is a great tool that can help you in analyzing reports written in foreign languages. Remember, AI tools are great, but they aren't infallible. So, do not rely solely on them. Nonetheless, Claude AI can save you a significant amount of time and effort.

Let’s say you want to analyze the latest annual report of a tiny Polish company called Eurosnack. By the way, I've done a write-up on it, so you can find it here:

To get started, find Claude AI. If it's not available in your country, you can use the Opera browser with its free VPN functionality: change your region to America.

Next, attach the financial report and write a prompt. For inspiration, you can use this one, but feel free to be creative and tailor it to your specific needs and interests:

As a professional Certified International Investment Analyst and Stockbroker go in-depth to analyze the financial report attached. Your analysis should include the following:

  1. Explain the company's business model in great detail.

  2. Identify and elaborate on the key strengths and advantages of the company.

  3. Evaluate the company's financial ratios, such as liquidity ratios, profitability ratios, and leverage ratios, to gain a deeper understanding of its financial position.

  4. Analyze the income statement to understand the financial performance.

  5. Examine the balance sheet, with a particular focus on the company's debt status.

  6. Analyze the cash flow statement to assess the company's liquidity and financial health.

  7. Provide an overview of the current status of the company and present the market outlook as perceived by key employees within the organization.

  8. Break down the product sales to gain insights into the performance of individual products.

  9. Break down the regional sales to understand the company's geographical revenue distribution.

  10. Perform a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to assess the company's overall competitiveness in the market.

  11. Conduct a comparative analysis with key competitors to benchmark the company's performance and identify areas of competitive advantage or improvement.

Please ensure your analysis is precise and grounded in the information provided in the report. Avoid making vague or speculative statements.

Here’s what you get:

You can go further and write additional prompts:

I prefer reading whole reports. I can't imagine making my investment decision based on AI extracted text, without knowing details, footnotes, etc. I use Edge, which can translate even large documents with many pages. It the translation is unclear, I switch back to original language and copy unclear part of the text to ChatGPT. Sometimes, text in PDFs or text in tables can't be copied, so then I use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool (ShareX) for extracting that text.

Fantastic post and thank you for sharing. Any reason you chose Claude AI instead of Chat GPT, Bard, or other alternatives?
